More Halloween Decorations

As promised here are some more pics of Halloween things. I get teased all the time over my addiction to the holiday but I don't care because I absolutely love it!

Need to contact my old friends Michael and Suzi on this one!

They are the wax King and Queen. LOL I found a bunch of candlestick lamps at a thrift store and one of them happened to be black. I'm in love with blackened wax so thought this should be easy to dip in wax and rub in spices. Well not so easy. I ended up using an old brush and dripping it on due to the cord and fixture. I knew I couldn't put either in the wax. I love how it turned out but way too much work to do the other 10. They are white and will take several coats of wax to cover them and way more work than I want. Any tips on how to do this other than taking the whole thing apart or painting them black first?

Repurposed Chair

I redid this chair for a dear friend of our family. I was so thrilled how it turned out I hated to give it back! She found the fabric at Hobby Lobby and she wanted it black. I decided to use Rustoleum Oil Rubbed Bronze and it matched the shimmery black in the fabric perfectly. Isn't she a beauty?

One needs to measure before making labels!

I got so excited over dipping bottles in wax I didn't think about measuring for the labels I made for them. So thus I now have tons of labels that don't fit and bottles without labels! What's a girl to do? Make more labels and go digging through recyclables again but this time with a tape measure in hand.  :-)

I am so in love with wax!

I remember when I was so afraid of working with wax because every time I researched it they talked about the flash value and starting a fire! Then I ran across an old hot plate at a thrift store and life hasn't been the same since! LOL I have been making melts and dipping anything and everything I can find in it. I love the bottles but not sure how to finish them off yet. Maybe a candle on top or some stained cheese cloth?

Love Halloween!

I am a freak about Halloween and probably have as many decorations for it as I do Christmas. Here's a few pics and will add more later. I have tubs and tubs to go through yet. Noticed I need to get rid of the greenery and add fall flowers and leaves on the shelf!

Loving my new shelf!

I have to share my new treasure. I found this old shelf about a year ago and was determined to make it into a plate holder - so with a bit of cleaning and painting I finally got it done. I love how it turned out and am working on another project to reflect this one. I arranged a few of my old ironstone dishes and added a bit of greenery and whala a new wall decor! Now if I can just figure out how to get the dang date stamp off the camera settings!

I'm falling in love with white!

I know I know all my family and friends are asking what is with me painting everything white after just painting everything black! Must be all the sunshine and flowers blooming that has me in the mood for something lighter.

Don't worry I will be changing it back to black in the fall. After all I am obsessed with Halloween!! Then I will pack it all up until next spring and pray I can re-locate it. I never spend too much since I've become a thriftaholic so it won't be that big of a deal if it stays lost for a year or two anyway. LOL

I found the greenery at the dollar tree! Can you believe that? Amazing what you can find there sometimes. Oh and the candles I found here and there and none of them matched so I dipped them in blackened bees wax and rolled them in spices. I love how they turned out and they are so much fun to do.

Feeling good again so back to posting

I feel like I should apologize for not blogging for so long. I have been under the weather for what seems like forever due to my fibromyalgia being so out of control. Unfortunately stress and weather dictate how I feel and both have taken over my life lately. Since we are finally getting a break from the rain I'm feeling somewhat better and  have been working on my flower and hostus gardens which have been neglected for way too long. Now if someone has a cure for the stress please post in comment section! My wonderful hubby put all new rock in for my birthday. He worked a whole day on it and it's looking beautiful again. I've been planting tons of annuals also in old pails and tins that I've been collecting over the years. Once again I've gone way overboard but what's a girl to do when she has too many to chose from. Plant something in all of them right? LOL Here's a few shots of my little peace of heaven. I hope you enjoy. :-)

Loving jars old and new

I'm in love again with jars thanks to my dear friend Lucille. I have been collecting them for years and I would show you my whole collection but that would mean I would have to also show you my messy craft room and garage! LOL So here's a few I have dug back out. Enjoy
